To continue personnel salaries and benefits to continue to improve and enhance the Wood County School District's instructional program, (including interventionists) and student support programs (including counselors and nurses) by the employment and retention of qualified teachers, service, and administrative personnel by maintaining competitive salaries and benefits B. To continue funds for school safety and security of all elementary, middle, and high schools through the use of school resource offices, security offices, security cameras, access control doors and other safety and security equipment. C. To continue funds for maintenance of all district-wide facilities including buildings, equipment, playgrounds, athletic and planetarium facilities to provide for safe and efficient operations. D. To continue funds for school operational supplies, equipment, and supplemental services – technology; instructional supplies and services; library supplies; copiers and supplies; funding for LSIC identified projects E. To continue funds for the support of WVU Extension Service, Artsbridge, Boys & Girls Club, YMCA, Wood County Libraries and New Era School or other enrichment programs in the county in support of the students. $15,500,000 $2,500,000 $968,497 $1,300,000 $638,000 Total for each of said fiscal years, approximately $20,906,497 or such amount as the proposed eighty percent of the maximum levy rates may produce when applied to the annual assessed valuation of taxable property in the Wood County School District; and further, any additional money derived from any increase in levy funds shall be used for maintenance, school safety and educational operational supplies/equipment/services, for all schools according to the order of the Board of education of the County of Wood entered the 23rd day of August, 2022. In the event that the actual amount collected is, for any reason, less than the amounts noted for the above-stated purposes for any one or more fiscal years, the Board is hereby authorized and empowered to determine, in its discretion, which one or more of the above-stated purposes shall be reduced for each such fiscal year, and the amount of each such reduction for such fiscal year; provided, that the total of all such reductions shall not exceed the amount of such collection shortfall each year; provided, further, that if any such reduction for one or more of the above-state purposes is necessary, the Board shall not reduce the funds allocated for School Safety and Security set forth in the purposes set forth above. The continuing eighty percent levy shall be on Class I property 18.36 cents; on Class II property 36.72 cents; on Class III property 73.44 cents; on Class IV property 73.44 cents.
