Get StartedThis amendment would prohibit people, physicians, and helathcare providers in the State of West Virgnia from participating in the practice of medically assisted suicide, euthanasia, or mercy killing of a person. The administration or prescription of medication for the purpose of alleviating pain or discomfort while the patient's condition follows its natural course is not prohibited, nor is the withholding or withdrawing of life-sustinaing treatment, as requested by the patient or patient's decsison-maker, in accordance with the State law. This amendment also does not prevent the State from providing capital punishment.

A no vote would oppose amending the constitution to prohibit medically assisted suicide.
