Get StartedShall Delta County taxes be increased by 2.7 million dollars annually (estimated) at a rate of eight tenths of one percent (0.8% or $0.008 per dollar) on taxable transactions through a collaborative countywide public safety improvements sales tax, commencing January 1, 2021 and continuing for ten years (through December 31, 2030), with revenue and investment earnings used to fund urgent and critical law enforcement needs and to prevent the rise in criminal activity in Delta County and according to the mutually agreed distribution of Delta County Sheriff's Office (52%), City of Delta Police Department (31%), Town of Cedaredge Police Department (7%), Town of Hotchkiss Marshal’s Office (45), and Town of Paonia Police Department (6%), in accordance with the requirements, provisions and exemptions referenced in Delta County Board of County Commissioners Resolution 2020-R-019 and in part based on census population and calls for service; And shall all revenues derived from such countywide public safety improvements sales tax, including investment earnings thereon, be collected, retained and spent in excess of the revenue or expenditure limitations contained in Article X, Section 20, of the Colorado Constitution or any other law, either as a voter-approved revenue change or as an exception to limites on revenues and spending?
