Get StartedCurrently, the Wyoming Constitution provides that a city's or town's debt for sewage disposal systems cannot exceed four percent (4%) of the assessed value of the city's or town's taxable property. This resolution would replace that limitation with authorization for the legislature to prescribe by the law the debt limit for municipal sewer projects.
A "YES" vote on Constitutional Amendment A is a vote in favor of amending the Wyoming Constitution to remove the limit on debt a town may incur to fund sewage projects and, instead, authorize the legislature to establish the limit.
A "NO" vote on Constitutional Amendment A opposes amending the Wyoming Constitution to replace the sewage project debt limit with a limit to be determined by the legislature
"Voting ‘yes’ for Amendment A will ensure that our municipalities' sewer systems can continue to invest in much needed infrastructure and remain safe for Wyomingites", in support of Ballot Proposition (Learn more)
“Amendment A is not a tax question or tax increase. It simply removes the debt limit requirement from the Wyoming Constitution and allows it to be set by the Legislature.”, in support of Ballot Proposition (Learn more)
This amendment will remove the constitutionally specified limit on the amount of debt a municipality can create for sewer projects and would allow the legislature to prescribe by law the limit for municipal sewer projects.
