Get StartedShall the special one percent (1%) sales and use tax for educational purposes currently in effect in Baldwin County be continued for a period of time not to exceed 20 calendar quarters and for the raising of not more than $43,000,000 for the purposes of acquiring, constructing, renovating, improving, extending, repairing, furnishing, upgrading, and equipping school buildings, administrative offices, athletic and vocational facilities, and other support facilities of the Baldwin County School District, which are useful and desirable in connection therewith, including any property thereon, both real and personal, and specifically including: (i) renovating, improving, extending, repairing, furnishing, upgrading, and equipping the Early Learning Center, Lakeview Primary, Lakeview Academy, Midway Hills Primary, Midway Hills Academy, Oak Hill Middle School, Baldwin High School and its Fine Arts Center and College and Career Academy, Baldwin High Stadium, the School District's Athletic Complex, the Administrative Offices and Meeting Facility, the Maintenance and Warehouse Facility, the Bus Maintenance Facility, and the Grounds Maintenance Facility, and the property recently acquired from the Georgia State Patrol: (ii) acquiring, constructing, furnishing and equipping an Alternative School and GNET Facility; (iii) purchasing and providing HVAC improvements, new roof systems, security, safety, technology and communication improvements, traffic, parking and sidewalk renovations and improvements, electrical and plumbing repairs and improvements, and energy efficiency improvements; (iv) renovating and extending retention ponds; (v) purchasing, providing and installing technology devices (to include computers, laptops, servers, printers, projectors, cabling, wireless access points, audio devices, cameras, and Voice Over IP); (vi) purchasing and providing laptop computers pursuant to a student laptop Initiative or program; (vii) acquiring and installing system-wide software to support instructional initiatives and improvements, finance, safety, maintenance and operations; (viii) purchasing, providing and installing school nutrition equipment and cafeteria improvements; (ix) acquiring school buses, vehicles, transportation and maintenance equipment; (x) acquiring textbooks, ebooks, digital media and library books; (xi) acquiring band/music, fine arts, vocational, and physical education/athletic equipment; (xii) acquiring, constructing, improving, and repairing playground equipment and other outdoor recreational facilities or structures; (xiii) planning for new site acquisition, site development and construction; (xiv) acquiring and installing all necessary property therefore, both real and personal; (xv) demolishing all or a portion of facilities or structures in connection therewith (the"Projects"); and (xi) paying expenses incident lo accomplishing the foregoing? If continuation of the tax is approved by the voters, such vote shall also constitute approval of the issuance of general obligation debt of the Baldwin County School District in the principal amount of up to $18,500,000, repayable from the proceeds of the aforesaid sales and use tax, for the purpose of funding such portions of the Projects as may be acquired, constructed, furnished and equipped with the proceeds of general obligation debt.
