Get StartedShall the City of Baton Rouge, State of Louisiana (the "City"), under the provisions of Article VI, Section 27(B) of the Louisiana Constitution of 1974, as amended, and other constitutional and statutory authority, be authorized to levy and collect a special ad valorem tax of six (6) mills on the dollar of assessed valuation on all property subject to taxation within the boundaries of the City (the "Tax") (an estimated $14,559,960 is reasonably expected to be collected from the levy of the Tax for an entire year), for a period of ten (10) years, commencing with the tax collection for the year 2025, and annually thereafter to and including the year 2034, the proceeds of said Tax (after paying the reasonable and necessary expenses of collection and administering the Tax, if any) to be used entirely and exclusively to provide funds for increasing salaries and benefits for all employees of the Fire Department of the City of Baton Rouge who are members of the Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service System?
