Get StartedShall a special 1 percent sales and use tax be imposed in the special district of Cobb County for a period of time not to exceed six years and for the raising of an estimated amount of $750,000,000.00 for the purposes of funding Facilities, Technology, Public Services, Public Safety and Transportation for Cobb County. Facility Improvements include the renovation of libraries, senior centers, recreation centers, public health facility, and other county-owned buildings such as courthouses, new animal services facility, replacement of Adult Detention Center Access Control System, and upgrades to Sheriff's Office facilities. Technology improvements include infrastructure technology upgrades, cyber security protection, and implementing and modernizing digital government business systems. Public Services improvements include Parks buildings and facilities renovations, safety improvements, synthetic turf conversion and replacement, lighting upgrades, paving, Veterans memorial, and purchase of park property. Public Safety improvements include police indoor firing range, police vehicle replacement, new E911 Call Center, radio equipment replacement, new 800 MHz radio towers, and fire facility replacements and renovations. Transportation Improvements include road resurfacing, replacement/rehabilitation of bridges and drainage systems, operational and safety improvements, sidewalk improvements, traffic management, transportation technology, transit capital improvements, school zone improvements, and Cobb DOT facility improvements. All such projects are to take place in Cobb County, including unincorporated Cobb County and the Municipalities of Acworth, Austell, Kennesaw, Marietta, Powder Springs, and Smyrna.
