"The City of Ventura Charter currently limits options for ways to deliver critical public works projects to our residents. This proposed Charter amendment will enable the City to use more than one method to deliver needed road repairs, sidewalk improvements and pipe replacements by allowing the flexibility of project-by-project determinations. Having more options will allow us to deliver capital projects faster and at a lower cost. We will also be able to complete energy sustainability projects at little or no cost to the City by using the money from the energy savings to fund the projects. In doing so we will continue to maintain the highest principles in public contracting of open and fair competition.", in support of Measure J (Learn more)
