Get StartedThe City Charter does not currently provide for a Redistricting Commission, however Chapter 2.34 of the Roseville Municipal Code, which was adopted by the City Council in June 2020, established the Roseville Independent Redistricting Commission. The proposed Measure would, essentially, incorporate Chapter 2.34 into the City Charter. As proposed, the eleven-member Redistricting Commission is tasked with the exclusive authority to redraw Council electoral district boundaries after every federal decennial census. The City Council would have no role in developing or adopting final maps.
A "YES" vote on measure R is a vote in favor of adding an article to the City Charter to establish the Roseville Independent Redistricting Commission and giving the commission the exclusive authority to redraw Council electoral district boundaries after every federal census.
