The voters previously approved 5.75 mills for the County’s general operations, which millage has been reduced under the Headlee Amendment by .5947 mills. This millage is equal to the millage previously rolled back by the Headlee Amendment. Shall the limitation on the amount of ad valorem taxes which may be levied by the County of Montmorency against taxable property in the County be increased by up to .5947 mills ($0.5947 per $1,000 of taxable value) for a period of four (4) years, 2020 through 2023, inclusive, for the purpose of providing funds for the general operations of Montmorency County, and shall the County levy such millage for this purpose? If approved and levied in its entirety, this millage would raise an estimated $311,000 for the County when first levied in 2020.
