Get StartedAn election to authorize continuation of levies which have been in effect since 1964, and is not an increase in taxes, for the fiscal years beginning July 1, 2019, July 1, 2020, July 1, 2021, July 1, 2022, and July 1, 2023, and for the purposes of: 1. That the purpose for which funds are needed in order to maintain and improve the instructional programs and the operation of the school services in the Mingo County School system are as follows: a. Free Textbooks, School Equipment, Instructional Equipment and Instructional Supplies for all students. Including technology services to install and maintain equipment for all schools 300,000.00 b. Support for Additional Educational Opportunities 35,600.00 c. Support to Schools for Supplies and Equipment 79,140.00 d. Support for Band and Choral Programs 20,000.00 e. Facilities-Repairs/Maintenance, Safety and Security 682,905.00 f. Support for Community Services 230,000.00 g. Support for Athletics/Sports 523,200.00 h. Employee Support / Supplements and Benefits 4,033,467.00 I. Improvement of Facilities 100,000.00 i. Authorization for the Board to expend, upon the funding of the above mentioned purposes, and at the end of each fiscal year this levy is in force and effect or at the end of the five-year period this levy is in effect or otherwise, at such times as it may desire, for public school purposes, any surplus which may accrue each fiscal year during the term of this levy. 2. The total approximate amount for said purposes, after an allowance for discount, delinquencies, and exonerations is $6,004,312.00 and the total amount to be expended during the term of this five-year levy is approximately $30,021,560.00 Or such amounts as the proposed additional levy rates may produce when applied to annual assessed valuation of taxable property in the Mingo County School District; and further any additional money derived from an increase in levy funds shall be used for the purposes listed above. 3. The Board may, at its discretion, increase or decrease any item if the total taxable property in the Mingo County School District increases or decreases, and any surplus money remaining from the levy at the end of each fiscal year of the levy may be used by the board of Education for any school purpose. 4. The Board of Education of the County of Mingo, if it determines that sufficient funds for school purposes exist for the school year, shall reduce the said levy rate in any given year or years during the five year period of this levy in accordance with WV Code §11-8-6g. All according to the Order of The Board of Education of The County of Mingo, entered on the 5TH day of June, 2018. The Proposed additional rate of levy on each Class of property per $100.00 of valuation of such property shall be as follows: Class I 22.95 cents Class II 45.90 cent Class III 91.80 cents Class IV 91.80 cents
