Summary

Election to authorize the continuing additional levies for the following years: 2019-2020, 2020-2021, 2021-2022, 2022-2023, and 2023-2024, for the following purposes: A. To continue personnel salaries and benefits to continue to improve and enhance the Wood County School District's instructional program, school safety, and student support programs by the employment and retention of qualified teachers, service, and administrative personnel by maintaining competitive salaries and benefits. $14,535,587 B. To continue funds for maintenance and safety enhancements of all district-wide facilities including buildings, equipment, playgrounds and athletic facilities to provide for safe and efficient operations. $2,220,000 C. To continue funds for school operational supplies and equipment - technology, instructional, library and copier including LSIC identified projects $990,000 D. To continue support of the Wood County Libraries $450,000 E. To continue funds for the support of WVU Extension Service and Artsbridge or other art enrichment programs in the county in support of the students. $60,000 Total for each of said fiscal years, approximately $18,255,587 or such amount as the proposed seventy percent additional levy rates may produce when applied to the annual assessed valuation of taxable property in the Wood County School District; and further, any additional money derived from an increase in levy funds shall be used for county library operations and the maintenance and safety enhancements of all district-wide facilities according to the order of the Board of Education of the County of Wood entered the 14th day of August, 2018. The continuing seventy percent levy shall be on Class I property 18.36 cents; on Class II property 36.72 cents; on Class III property 73.44 cents; on Class IV property 73.44 cents. INSTRUCTIONS: Those favoring the additional levies, darken the oval before "FOR THE LEVIES". Those against the levies, darken the oval before "AGAINST THE LEVIES".
