Parishwide Recreation and Park Commission Proposition No. 2 of 2 - Recreation and Park Commission Proposition 2

Shall the Recreation and Park Commission for the Parish of East Baton Rouge ("BREC"), under the provisions of Article VI, Section 32 of the Louisiana Constitution of 1974, Section 4570.4(B) of Title 33 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, as amended, and other constitutional and statutory authority, be authorized to levy and collect, and adopt an ordinance providing for such levy and collection of, a 3.253 mills tax (the "Tax") on all property subject to taxation in the Parish of East Baton Rouge, State of Louisiana (the "Parish") (estimated $17,796,291.29 is reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the Tax for an entire year), for a period of twenty (20) years, commencing with the year 2025, and annually thereafter to and including the year 2044, for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, renovating, operating and maintaining public parks, recreational properties, and facilities of BREC and acquire the necessary furnishings, machinery and equipment therefore, title to which shall be in the public, with the proceeds of the Tax to be specifically used for the purpose of funding the Strategic Master Plan approved and adopted by the Board of Commissioners of BREC on August 22, 2024?
