Proposition 2 - Specific Purpose Excise Tax

A one percent (1%) specific purpose excise tax is being proposed for distribution to up to three (3) ballot propositions. Each proposition stands separately from the other propositions with respect to this one percent (1%) specific purpose excise tax proposal. The specific excise tax shall not exceed one percent (1%). You may vote for or against each proposition. To be approved, a proposition must receive a majority of "FOR" votes with respect to the total number of votes cast on such proposition. Shall Campbell County, Wyoming, be authorized to impose an additional one percent (1%) specific purpose excise tax for the specific purpose of raising and collecting the amounts set forth below, the proceeds from which, and the interest earned thereon, to be used and applied for specific projects, and to the extent necessary and allowed by law, the pledge to or payment of debt service and/or lease payments thereon: Proposition #1 Town of Wright Sagebluff Addition Project $12,000,000.00 for use by the Town of Wright to construct and improve streets, curb and gutter, pathways, site grading, water and sewer, electric power, gas and other utilities for the Sagebluff Addition. Proposition #2 City of Gillette Replacement of the Gurley Avenue Bridge over BNSF Railroad (a/k/a Mike Enzi Memorial Overpass Project) $30,000,000 for use by the City of Gillette to construct and improve a new bridge structure, streets, curb and gutter, pathways, grading, retaining walls, stormwater detention, water mains, sewer mains, electric power, gas, right of way and easements, and other utilities and enhancements for the Mike Enzi Memorial Overpass. Proposition #3 Campbell County Public Land Board Multi-Use Indoor Arenas Project $207,800,467.00 for use by the Campbell County Public Land Board for the planning, engineering, construction, equipping, maintenance, and furnishing of certain capital facilities consisting of Multi-use Indoor Arenas and related improvements located at Cam-Plex grounds. The project includes a new multi-use indoor facility that can accommodate rodeo, sporting, concerts, and other events, and related improvements including parking, multi-use support barns, and campsites.
