Proposition 4 - Proposal To Renew Grandvue Millage

This proposal reestablishes the .75 mills for Grandvue previously approved by the electors that expired after the December, 2023 levy. The Headlee Amendment previously reduced this millage to .7334 mills. This ballot proposal renews the existing .7334 mills and restores the .0166 mills previously rolled back by the Headlee Amendment. Shall the limitation on the amount of ad valorem taxes which may be levied by the County of Charlevoix, State of Michigan, against taxable property in the County be increased by up to .75 mills ($.75 per $1,000 of taxable value) for a period of four (4) years, 2024 through 2027, inclusive, for the purpose of providing funds for the operation of Grandvue Medical Care Facility, and shall the Charlevoix County Board of Commissioners be authorized to levy such millage for this purpose? If approved and levied in its entirety, this millage would raise an estimated $2,221,962 in 2024 that will be disbursed to Grandvue Medical Care Facility.
