Question 1 - 1 Percent Special Purpose Local Option 1 Percent Sales Tax (SPLOST)

Shall a special 1 percent (1%) special purpose sales and use tax be imposed in Wilcox County, Georgia, for a period of time not to exceed six (6) years for the raising of an estimated total amount of $2,800,000 for the purposes of funding the following capital outlay projects within Wilcox County, Georgia, and the cities of Abbeville, Pineview, Pitts and Rochelle, Georgia, as follows: (i) $2,184,000 for capital outlay projects administered by Wilcox County, Georgia, consisting of improving, upgrading and repairing roads, streets and bridges, including acquiring materials for roads, streets and bridges; acquiring vehicles and capital equipment for roads, streets and bridges; repairing, renovating, upgrading and improving the Wilcox County Courthouse; acquiring and installing fixtures and equipment for the Wilcox County Courthouse; constructing, equipping and furnishing a county owned law enforcement facility, including a jail; constructing, equipping, and furnishing a county-owned fire and rescue station; acquiring fire and rescue capital equipment; acquiring emergency medical services vehicles and capital equipment; acquiring emergency medical services vehicles and capital equipment; repairing, renovating, upgrading and improving buildings, facilities, parks and grounds of the recreation department; and acquiring and installing recreational fixtures and equipment; (ii) $196,000 for capital outlay projects administered by the city of Abbeville, Georgia, consisting of acquiring, installing, improving and upgrading water and sewer lines and connections; repairing, renovating, upgrading and improving recreational facilities, parks and grounds; acquiring and installing recreational fixtures and equipment; repairing, renovating, upgrading, improving and expanding city hall; acquiring and installing fixtures and equipment for city hall; and acquiring vehicles and capital equipment for public works; (iii) $112,000 for capital outlay projects administered by the City of Pineview, Georgia, consisting of repairing, renovating, upgrading and improving recreational facilities, parks and grounds; acquiring and installing recreational fixtures and equipment; renovating, repairing, upgrading and improving the community center, including furnishing and equipping the same; acquiring and installing fixtures and equipment for the community center; constructing, equipping, and furnishing a county-owned fire and rescue station; acquiring vehicles and capital equipment for fire and rescue services; and improving, upgrading and repairing roads, streets and bridges, including acquiring materials for roads, streets and bridges; (iv) $112,000 for capital outlay projects administered by the City of Pitts, Georgia, consisting of renovating, repairing,upgrading and improving the fire station by constructing, furnishing and equipping an addition; renovating, repairing, upgrading, improving and expanding the community center, including furnishing and equipping the same; and repairing, renovating, upgrading and improving recreational facilities, parks and grounds; acquiring and installing recreational fixtures and equipment; and (v) $196,000 for capital outlay projects administered by the City of Rochelle, Georgia, consisting of repairing, renovating, upgrading and improving the public works facility; acquiring and installing equipment and fixtures for the public works facility; repairing, renovating, upgrading and improving city hall; acquiring and installing fixtures and equipment for city hall; and acquiring law enforcement vehicles?
