Get StartedShall a once percent sales and use tax for educational purposes be imposed in the McIntosh County School District for a period of time not to exceed 20 consecutive calendar quarters, and for the raising of an estimated amount of $12,000,000.00 for the purposes of funding the following capital outlay projects: (i) the addition, renovation, repair, remediation and improvement of existing school buildings and other School District facilities, including, but not limited to, painting, roofing, paving and HVAC, (ii) the acquisition, construction, equipping and furnishing of school buildings and facilities, (iii) the acquisition and installation of technology and safety equipment, including, but not limited to, computer hardware and software, classroom displays and projectors, tablets, and security equipment, and the required renewal of existing software, (iv) the acquisition of CTAE and athletic equipment, (v) the acquisition of school buses and other vehicles, (vi) the acquisition of curriculum resources, band instruments and band uniforms, (vii) the acquisition and installation of landscaping, including plants, irrigation, fencing and paving, (viii) the acquisition of land, (ix) the retirement of any debt to include capital lease obligations, and (x) the acquisition and purchase of any property necessary and desirable therefor, both real personal, the maximum amount of the projects to be paid with sales and use tax proceeds will be $12,000,000.00. If imposition of the tax is approved by the voters, such vote shall also constitute approval of the issuance of general obligation debt of the McIntosh County School District in the principal amount of $6,000,000 for the above capital outlay purposes.
