Special County Hospital Tax Renewal Election -

Shall Washington County, in the State of Alabama, be authorized to levy for the tax year of the County beginning October 1, 2023 (for which tax year taxes will become due on October 1, 2024), and continuing until and including the tax year of the County beginning October 1, 2033 (for which year taxes will become due on October 1, 2034), in addition to all other taxes authorized by law, a special county tax, not exceeding two (2) mills on each dollar of the assessed valuation of the taxable property in the county, to be paid over to the Washington County Health Care Authority, Inc. or its successors, and used solely for acquiring, by purchase, lease, or otherwise, constructing, operating, equipping, or maintaining county hospitals, or other public hospitals, non-profit hospitals and public health facilities in Washington County.
