SPLOST Referendum - Sales and Use Tax

Shall a special one percent sales and use tax be imposed in the special district of Monroe County for a period of time of twenty-four calendar quarters (6 years) and for the raising of an estimated amount of $40,000,000 for the following purposes, pursuant to an Intergovernmental Contract, dated May 23, 2024, among Monroe County, Georgia, the City of Forsyth, and the City of Culloden: (A) funding the following capital outlay projects for Monroe County: (1) new water projects, (2) new government buildings for various departments, (3) rolling stock vehicles and equipment, (4) miscellaneous equipment for Monroe County Emergency Services and Recycling, (5) recreation facilities expansion; (B) funding the following capital outlay projects for the City of Forsyth: (1) municipal buildings and facilities, (2) vehicles and equipment, (3) downtown improvements, (4) signage; And (C) funding the following capital outlay projects for the City of Culloden: (1) land acquisition and improvements, (2) public facilities and improvements, (3) parks and recreation improvements, and (4) water and utilities improvements.
