Get StartedShall Weld County (Eaton) School District RE-2's debt be increased up to $128.5 million with a repayment cost of up to $253 million (which includes principal and interest) or such lesser amount as may be necessary, and shall Weld County (Eaton) School District RE-2's taxes be increased up to $10.2 million annually or such lesser amount as may be necessary for the payment of such debt, all for the purpose of improving district facilities to better serve the needs of students in a growing district by: · upgrading safety and security (secure entry) and addressing deferred maintenance in all existing schools (except Eaton Elementary School, which will be decommissioned), with a portion of the cost to be paid by a grant from the State's BEST program; · constructing, furnishing and equipping a new high school on land currently owned by the District; · remodeling and furnishing the existing Eaton High School to convert it to a middle school, including constructing an addition thereto in order to provide a safer and more secure campus; · remodeling and furnishing the existing Eaton Middle School to convert it to an elementary school; · constructing, furnishing and equipping a new transportation facility; and also improving, constructing, acquiring, expanding, furnishing, repairing, renovating and equipping district buildings, facilities and grounds; and with such debt to mature, be subject to redemption, with or without premium, and be issued, dated and sold at, above or below par, and at such time or times and in such manner and containing such terms, not inconsistent herewith, as the Board of Education may determine, with the limitation on the amount of the District's debt to be increased up to 6% of the actual value of the taxable property in the District as allowed by §22-42-104(1)(b), C.R.S.; and in connection therewith (i) to increase the District's property taxes in any year as stated above in an amount sufficient to pay the principal of and interest on such debt when due and to fund any reserves for the payment thereof, and (ii) to collect and spend the proceeds of such debt and the revenues from such taxes and the specific ownership taxes attributable thereto and any earnings from the investment of such proceeds and revenues as a voter approved revenue and spending change without limitation by the revenue and spending limits of, and without affecting the District's ability to collect and spend any other revenues or funds under, Article X, Section 20 of the Colorado Constitution or any other law?
