Economy

Agriculture is at the heart of the district’s history and our economy. Our ranching and farming families work hard to help feed our state and our nation. In Congress, I will work to protect our water, open up markets, make sure producers aren’t at the mercy of middlemen and monopolistic practices, and fight bad policies and regulations coming out of Washington. In Congress, I will fight to rein in inflation and pass laws that will help create good paying jobs, so every family is able to put food on the table. Learn more

In Congress, I will make sure Western and Southern Colorado get the money we need to rebuild and modernize our district’s aging infrastructure, support our businesses, and boost our local economies. We also need to make sure we are creating and opening up jobs available to those without college degrees. These jobs are as — if not more — important to building healthy and thriving communities. Environment / Energy

We must have an ‘all of the above’ energy production policy that includes responsible oil and gas production, wind, solar, nuclear and hydropower, and emerging technologies like hydrogen. This will make America stronger, help us build an economy that ensures families and communities across our district have what they need to thrive, and will be much better for the global climate. Healthcare

I will focus solely on driving down costs and methodically look at what can be done to improve rural health care with federal support like protecting Medicare and Medicaid, prioritizing mental health, increasing funding for critical access hospitals, expanding telehealth access, and supporting scholarship programs for healthcare students to practice in rural communities after graduation.
