I will work to support our married LGBTQ+ families by affording them the same rights as married heterosexual couples including automatic parenthood recognition for their children at birth. Learn more

Defense / Veterans

Served many of our nation’s veterans struggling to find and maintain housing that met their needs after returning from deployment. When veterans return home, they often face symptoms related to trauma they saw or endured during deployment. As a state and a nation, we need to acknowledge the tremendous sacrifice those serving our country make and support them with housing, mental health and chemical dependency services. Learn more

Drug Policy

We need to legalize and decriminalize marijuana use for adults. Legalizing marijuana will increase tax revenue and create jobs. Other states have done so and seen tremendous benefits to their economy. Learn more

Education

As your Minnesota State Senator I will work tirelessly to ensure we have a thriving economy and a robust educational system, including a fully funded public school system. Learn more

As a first generation college student who went on to graduate school, I know what it feels like to have the weight of student loan debt that never seems to shrink despite payments month after month. I will support creating job training programs and affordable higher education that will produce a skilled workforce moving our economy forward while reducing the burden of immense student loan debt for younger generations. Guns

I am a supporter of the 2nd amendment right. I also believe there are sensible things we can do to ensure when we send our children to school they get off the school bus at the end of the day. We must take action to ensure Minnesotans are safe when we go to a concert, grocery store, or movie theater. I support universal background checks and Red Flag laws. Learn more

Healthcare

We are failing those with mental health diagnoses. Using my 18 years of experience, I will work to improve mental health programs proven to support those in need and make changes to programs that are falling short and wasting taxpayers money. Learn more

Throughout my career in social services, I have the pleasure and challenge of working with Minnesotans as they try to navigate Medicare and Medicaid services for themselves and their families. We need to ensure every Minnesotan has access to affordable health care in their community when they need it. Learn more

As a mental health professional, I know we must ban the dangerous and abusive practice of conversion therapy. Learn more

Social Services

The cost of child care continues to rise decade after decade while working families struggle to access affordable child care. It is imperative that we create affordable childcare and high-quality early education options to support both our working families and childcare providers. Learn more

Throughout my work in social services, I have seen the ways our safety net programs support and fail families. I have the knowledge to save taxpayer’s money through creating changes necessary in the legislature to fix the programs that are broken, remove the programs our community knows aren’t working and support programs that are addressing disparities.
