At a time when gas is at an all-time high, every police officer has their own vehicle. Having two officers in each patrol car would cut the counties expenses. Having another person in the vehicle is better from a safety and security standpoint, your backup is already in the car with you. At the same time, it’s more cost effective. With a two-person vehicle we won’t need as many vehicles and we won’t need to maintain as many vehicles. At $70,000 to $80,000 a vehicle that will be a major savings to the county. Learn more
We need to hire law enforcement officers that want the best for the community, preferably hiring officers that grew up in the community. We need to stop hiring officers that are antagonistic towards the community. We need to focus on violent crimes not victimless crimes. Learn more
Most of the extra money saved will go to parks & recreation, trade schools, and job training centers. Along with the money saved through law enforcement, we will impose a pirate tax on any owner of a store or gas station that does not live in Dekalb County and has lotto machines. Learn more
