I helped introduce the Remedial Education Improvement Act to create a grant program allowing federal student aid money to support up to two years of developmental education, making post-secondary education more affordable and accessible. Learn more

I’ve been a longtime proponent of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), and fought to ensure special education programs across our district are fully funded. Learn more

Environment / Energy

I introduced a bipartisan bill to give local communities the funding they need to address runoff pollution that is enhanced by rapidly melting snow and rain. Learn more

I have supported securing US energy independence by increasing homegrown renewable fuels production and pursuing an “all of the above” energy approach. Learn more

Foreign Policy

I unequivocally condemned Vladimir Putin’s actions in Ukraine and will continue to support all efforts — economic, humanitarian and military — to stop this unprovoked violence and needless human suffering. Learn more

Government Reform

I wrote and introduced the No Tax Dollars for First Class Flights Act, which would prevent members of Congress from using your tax dollars to purchase first-class tickets. Learn more

Since Minnesotans first sent me to Congress, I’ve been working to clean up Washington and ensure elected leaders are held accountable. Our work to stop this corruption in Washington is not always popular among my colleagues on either side of the aisle, but I know it’s what’s right for Minnesotans and all Americans. Learn more

Guns

I’m a gun owner and supporter of the Second Amendment, but that support goes hand in hand with doing everything I can to keep our children and our communities safe from gun violence. Learn more

Healthcare

Since I was elected, I’ve made a lot of enemies in the pharmaceutical companies with my work to lower costs for Americans, and they’ve fought back with smear campaigns every time, but I always say: if I lose my next election because I stood up to Big Pharma on behalf of hard working families, I will wear it as a badge of honor. I’ll keep fighting until every Minnesotan has access to quality, affordable health care. Learn more

I am a co-sponsor on bills to fight the opioid epidemic and hold drug companies accountable. Learn more

I introduced a bill that would lower the cost of health insurance in the individual market. And I’ve co-sponsored a bill that would increase competition in the individual marketplace for Minnesota families by establishing a public option health plan to compete with large insurance companies. I’ve worked on legislation that would increase access to mental health services by funding new mental health clinics and expanding telehealth services, especially for rural areas. Learn more

I’m working to pass my Affordable Insulin Now Act to extend those savings to every American who needs them. Learn more

I’ve introduced legislation which would increase competition for more affordable generic drugs and co-sponsored a bill which would create emergency insulin supplies and hold big drug companies accountable for jacking up prices. Learn more

Immigration

National security extends to our southern border as well, and that’s why I’ve supported bipartisan reforms to our immigration system and targeted investments that will restore order at our southern border. Learn more

I have pushed for orderly, secure, and humane immigration policies, including cosponsoring the American Dream and Promise Act of 2019, creating a path for permanent residence for individuals within Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program (DACA). Learn more

Social Services

Every American deserves to retire with dignity after a lifetime of hard work, and that’s why I will always oppose legislation that will privatize, jeopardize, or make any cuts to Social Security and Medicare. We must do more to support seniors living on a fixed income and ensure they have access to the support they need – that’s what I’m working to do in Congress. Learn more
