Preferential Treatment in Bailouts, during economic crises large financial institutions and large corporations receive government bailouts that protect the wealthy investors without the support for small businesses and individual workers. Gun control in autocratic, fascist and dictatorship nations reflects the governments desire to maintain strict control over the citizens. In such countries the regulation of firearms is stringent and the policies surrounding gun ownership and use are designed to prevent potential uprising or challenge to the authority of the state. Civilians rarely have access to guns. Authoritarian governments implement rigorous licensing and registration processes for gun ownership. Procedures include extensive background checks, psychological evaluations and justification for the need to own a firearm. Legal procession of armaments is restricted to certain groups such as law enforcement, military personnel and select individuals with close ties to government.The state maintains a monopoly on the legitimate use of force with heavily armed police and military forces ensuring compliance with the regime’s policies and suppressing dissent.
