Get StartedI believe that people have the right to bodily autonomy. I believe that it is not the role of the federal government to restrict abortions, defund facilities who provide that service, or act to make medical decisions for its citizens. Learn more
I believe that women deserve the right to reproductive freedom. Women need easier access to birth control; reproductive healthcare services; safe, legal and affordable abortion; family planning services; and affordable pre- and post-natal care. There should be no coverage exemptions for religion. Learn more
Since the election of 2016, the rights of LGBTQIA+ people have been under attack. Transgender people have been barred from military service under the false pretense that they are unfit to serve. Existing transgender and non-binary members of the military are terrified of being found out. For some, it would destroy years of service to our country along with their livelihood. Learn more
I believe that everyone, no matter your orientation, gender identity, or ethnicity, deserves safety and security. Too many individuals have fallen victim to domestic abuse and sexual violence. We must be a voice for the voiceless. We must act swiftly, and stand firmly against the cycle of abuse. Learn more
Our farmers and ranchers are severely underserved by our current representatives. They have allowed the current administration to enter a trade war that has resulted in tariffs against our agricultural goods. The Nebraska Farm Bureau estimates that our state’s farmers will lose $943 million in revenue throughout 2019 due to the tariffs President Trump and Jeff Fortenberry support. Add to that the 2018 numbers and we have lost almost $2 billion of revenue to this trade dispute... Learn more
Send me to Congress, and I’ll fight to cancel student debt, make public colleges and universities tuition free, and work with industries to continue the work their doing in attracting students to trade schools, with a job guaranteed at the end. Learn more
In 2019 our district was devastated by historic flooding caused by climate change. Nebraskans are feeling the effects of climate change every day. We need to mobilize as a country to combat climate change just like we mobilized as a country at the onset of World War II. Learn more
I come from a family that has been affected by gun violence. Every day one hundred people are killed with guns in America. Our country has the second highest gun deaths per year. No more thoughts and prayers as the only response to mass shootings. It is time that we stand up to corrupt politicians and the NRA. It is time to act... Learn more
Send me to Congress, and I will fight for a sensible health insurance package with the only goal in mind being that we make good on our promise of providing high quality care at an affordable rate for our citizens. Healthcare is a right for everyone. Learn more
One of the most important reasons that I am in this fight is to fight for immigration reform. Jeff Fortenberry has been an enabler of the separation of families, denial of proper care for immigrants detained at the border and is a supporter of taking tax dollars away from military families to build a wall at the southern border. Learn more
Elect me to Congress and I will revive the Community Broadband Act. I will add provisioning to this legislation to declare Internet as a utility, undoing the disastrous FCC reclassification. This will codify Internet as a utility into federal law, rather than a regulation to be easily overturned. Learn more
Americans with disabilities are actively discriminated against. A class of forgotten Americans have gone without adequate representation, we’re going to change that. The Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 has an exemption for disabled workers to be paid less than the minimum wage that was established within the same bill. Learn more
