We must protect both our drinking water and our lakes — Michigan’s most valuable asset. Learn more
Climate change is real. We have to protect the future of our country (from harms that are now awfully immediate) by enacting policies to incentivize wind and solar power. I believe: Wind is a particularly good opportunity for rural areas like ours. Electric automobiles must be encouraged now and into the future. Increased use of nuclear power in the short term can help us move away from coal. Learn more
We need to balance our budget so as not to pass along our fiscal failures to our children. The amount we have to pay each year for past debt is a rock around our neck. Learn more
We need to continue the Child Tax Credit to aid working families with children. We also need to enact policy to ensure that major corporations are not avoiding paying taxes by using foreign tax haven structures. If they want to do business here, they can help us pay for the things that government provides (and which they are essentially getting for free). Learn more
