Get StartedIn education I’d like to see more equitable funding between districts. An undue burden has been placed on local property owners, especially in our more rural areas. Public schools should not be in competition with each other. I support an increased emphasis on vocational/skilled labor training, apprenticeships, and Post Secondary Education Options (PSEOs). We should also provide expanded mental health services and funding for school security. I believe we could pay for some of these education improvements by shifting money from Health and Human Services. Learn more
As a candidate who has chosen not to accept contributions from PACs or Unions I am ready to go to work on the issue of campaign finance reform. It’s time we end the hidden money and limitless spending. Another problem we have is we are too often electing officials that don’t represent the majority. One solution would be to implement ranked choice voting. In a ranked choice election simply getting the most votes is not enough. You need a majority to win, which is fifty percent plus one. Healthcare remains a top concern for most everyone. I think we would all agree we need greater cost transparency as well as increased education for preventative care, birth control, and end of life choices. Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) should be accessible to all regardless of insurance company or plan affiliation. Tort reform also interests me. I support a public option to Minnesota Care. A true buy-in mind you, not a give away. Learn more
