If we find ourselves in a hole and we want to get out, the first thing we must do is STOP DIGGING. Irresponsible legislation and fiscal malfeasance have put Kentucky in a deep hole of debt. The unfunded pensions for state employees put the state at risk of bankruptcy. This is not fair to the taxpayers of Kentucky or to the teachers, police officers, and other state workers who contracted their services in good faith and are now at risk of losing their pensions. The people of Kentucky want to honor those contracts because it is the right thing to do. But we must change future contracts so that we STOP DIGGING our way into bankruptcy and default. Learn more
