Johnson Memorial Hospital is struggling due to the current composition of Connecticut's healthcare system. Hartford Healtchare and Yale New Haven are being allowed to drown out smaller hospital systems in attempt to eventually buy up these hospital systems on the cheap. Stopping further expansion by Hartford Healtcare and Yale New Haven will protect Johnson Memorial Hospital in future years. Learn more
The "Carried Interest" loophole allows Wall Street investors to cheat by paying literally half of what all other industries pay in taxes for business transactions. If Connecticut signed a compact with other Northeast states to eliminate the "Carried Interest" loophole, the state would be able to better support education, seniors and the vulnerable without eliminating high-income jobs. The state created "Budget Guardrails" in response to past flawed state budgets. However, these "Budget Guardrails" need to be reformed.
