Parents have the right to know and approve/disapprove if these topics are part of the curriculum for their kids. Parent’s rights supersede school administration rights! We need to allow kids to be kids, and not force-feed these social engineering topics on students K-12. Schools should focus on Mathematics, Science, Languages, History, Technology and those topics that will enable our children to compete as adults later in life! Learn more
During the Covid-19 pandemic and through the use of Zoom and other technologies, parents began to see daily the education process “real-time” for their kids. Nationwide, we have seen Critical Race Theory (CRT) and similarly disguised topics under the header of diversity and inclusion, or social-justice, being injected into the K-12 school curriculum. These include but are not limited to sexual orientation and gender orientation education to children in pre-K and K-through third grade in some school districts across our country. While the tendency of some people may be to debate the merits of each of these topics, I do not believe these topics have any basis or merit in our K-12 school system. Learn more
I am a strong advocate for transparency in our K-12 education system, and believe parents have the right to know what is being taught to their kids. Moreover, school administrators have an obligation to be transparent with parents regarding course content and course curriculum in K-12 public schools. Learn more
Elected officials at all levels must understand and work to secure a national energy strategy that makes and keeps us energy independent. This means we must consider all forms of energy, which includes fossil fuels, wind, solar and nuclear power. As your elected representative, I pledge to do just this! Learn more
Countries that disarm citizens are well on the path to tyranny. I’ve been a hunter and gun owner since my Dad gave me my first shotgun and rifle for hunting when I was twelve years old. I’ve been a responsible gun owner for 48 years! We cannot entertain any effort to reduce or eliminate lawful gun ownership in the United States. This is our right guaranteed by the second amendment, and I will fight any attempt by the government to do so! Learn more
I do not profess to be a “Tax Expert” on each and every tax levied by the State of Kansas. As a homeowner though, I will work to get on the Taxation Committee in the Kansas House if elected as your State Representative, to become involved in, and work toward, reducing the tax burden on our citizens. I say this after seeing my own property taxes seemingly climb every year without regard to the value of my home or the homes around me. And we must also consider the flip-side of taxes which generate revenue for the state and that is SPENDING. As your state representative, we will deliver a balanced budget every year, and work toward reducing spending levels associated with reduced taxation! Learn more
