It tramples on Parental rights and the well being of children while destroying discipline in the schools. Criminal Justice / Public Safety

We are safer and have a more just society with the judicious use of the death penalty. Learn more

After 7 years of being clean, Misdemeanors should automatically be removed. Learn more

Utilize modern technology to identify shots fired, their locations and activate cameras to take pictures in real time. Police can be in the right place in minutes. Learn more

Drug Policy

We do need to work to improve comfort care, counseling and pain management for those suffering from both chronic and terminal conditions including medical cannabis. Learn more

Economy

We need to work with non-profits, unions, our community colleges, schools and chambers of commerce to identify current and future employment trends.  We should partner with our Universities to study economic trends in the First State.  We then need to fund existing and develop new training which works and cut the ones which do not. Education

Functions such as accounting, human resources and transportation management can be combined without the loss of local control and identity. Those dollars can support funding the math and reading specialists to which the state already committed. Learn more

I want more dollars in the classroom, more teacher autonomy, fewer standardized tests and surveys, and less paperwork for them. Learn more

Common Core is the opposite approach that the nations which lead education take. We need multiple tracks not one. Learn more

I believe in local control and parental involvement. I support choice, especially charter schools, keeping home schoolers free from Common Core and more regulations. Learn more

We need dollars to the classroom not the Department of Education. Learn more

Environment / Energy

We need to move from the Renewable Portfolio Standard and other cost raising laws and regulations and go to an incentive based approach for renewables and conservation.  Delaware needs to encourage new power generation of all types. Learn more

Government Reform

The right of referendum is essential to place a check on the government. Delaware is the only state where the people do not vote on amendments to their own constitution. We need this check on the power of the government. Learn more

We need to look at processes and regulations to see what makes sense in the 21st Century. Learn more

We need permit reforms to speed up the process when an error is corrected. Learn more

Guns

Don’t punish all 18 to 21 year-olds who like target shooting and hunting or preparing for careers in the military. Examine the California (of all places) Gun Violence Reduction Act. It actually gets the government out of primary position and empowers the family to keep or remove temporarily weapons from people who are dangerous or in a very dark place yet protects the due process rights of the individuals. It utilizes the courts much in the same way as a PFA. Family usually knows best. If someone is making threats or is a danger hear them. Learn more

We need to make background checks work better by insuring the information is up to date. We also need to make them easily available for private sales. You should not be mandated to do so at a purely private sale, but if you use it, you should have protection from any liability. Intentional straw purchases or transfers to prohibited people should be punished more harshly. Learn more

Healthcare

We need sensible healthcare reform that improves patient care and allows cost control. Learn more

Doctors should aid their patients not kill them. Learn more

Infrastructure / Transportation

We need to have appropriate service roads at key growth check points such as the Garrison Technology Park and the Dover Mall, Dover Downs areas to allow easy Route 1 access. Learn more

Social Services

We need to allow greater partnerships with the prisons and especially probation and parole and faith-based rehabilitation like the Prison Fellowship and Teen Challenge models in Texas that proved to work to reduce recidivism. Learn more

Taxes / Budget

Delaware needs a stabilization fund to allow for economic ups and downs so we do not need to raise taxes or slash the social safety net when people need it most during recessionary dip. Learn more

In Dover, we found that Lean Government empowered employees to find savings for the taxpayers. By finding efficiencies, they were able to find their own raises and serve the people better. We need a similar approach at the state level. Learn more

Wages / Job Benefits

Prevailing wage is a necessary mechanism to protect middle class wages. Without it, contracts going to the lowest bidder would squeeze labor costs and create a race to the bottom. Learn more
