Get StartedI believe that a secular government does a better job of protecting religious rights than a theocracy. Learn more
I believe that many of our behavioral rules should be made at the state level. Large cities are more accepting and better able to tolerate different kinds of belief systems. Small communities with smaller populations and limited resources will have a different set of standards. Learn more
No member of any intelligence agency would voluntarily give back the power to gather more information or admit it’s unconstitutional. This is why there has to be limits placed on intelligence agencies and law enforcement to protect people’s freedoms and liberties. Learn more
There are those in our country who think that we do not have a right to free speech. Yet when people voice certain opinions they can lose their job, be prosecuted for hate speech, subjected to slander, and be open to verbal abuse by those that disagree with them. Remember it’s just a matter of time before your beliefs and opinions become unacceptable and people will treat you the way you treated them. Learn more
Oftentimes, people don’t understand what liberty really means. For liberty to work, it has to apply equally to everyone. The freedoms and liberties that we receive are based on the freedoms and liberties we give to others. Freedom and liberty are not defined solely by the things that we like while restricting freedoms of other people that we don’t like. Learn more
One should never give to the government powers you would not want in the hands of your worst enemy. Learn more
Furthermore, by legalizing some drugs and releasing nonviolent offenders, we can return these people to productive members of society and save the cost of incarceration. Another option would be to allow nonviolent offenders with long sentences to renounce their citizenship and leave the country. Another country must accept responsibility for them and must be approved by the court. Learn more
At some point here in America, we have to accept the problem that building more prisons cannot be the best long-term solution. Learn more
The war on drugs has been a complete failure by any stretch of the imagination. I think it’s time we change the way we deal with drugs in our society. We seem to think we can legislate our way out of every problem but clearly that hasn’t worked. It should be up to each individual state as to how they deal with marijuana, cocaine and heroin. Learn more
This is not an admission that drugs are good or acceptable but that there’s different ways of dealing with drugs in our society. We can’t seem to stop drugs coming into the country, but we can let drug taxes finance rehabilitation for all drug addicts. Learn more
We can no longer afford to keep purchasing friends and financing repressive leaders. Learn more
The 10th amendment is in a constant state of siege from the federal government. One of my major concerns is a “one size fits all” set of rules that may make sense in one part of the country but can have a negative impact in another part of the country. Each state has problems that would require in-state solutions unique to that state. Learn more
While we want to accept immigrants into our country, we must control the flow of immigration to prevent destabilization of our society. Some people believe that we should accept anyone without restrictions. This jeopardizes not only our safety but the principles that our society is based on. Immigrants who have no intention of adapting to our democracy should not be accepted. A guest should always show respect to the host. Learn more
The fundamental principle that our country was founded upon is fair and honest in dealings between the government and the people. We expect our government to tell us the truth and to be free from corrupting influences. Yet our tax system in my opinion is the most corrupt institution in history. Our tax code is the most complex ever written and most people believe that the wealthiest citizens seem to have the biggest advantage. Learn more
Here in the United States, our government keeps spending as if there will be no consequences to piling up debt and printing more money. Sooner or later the bill will come due and the costs will be on the ordinary citizens of our country. Yet there seems to be no slowing of the government spending, unlimited borrowing, and reckless monetary policy. The currency itself is controlled by the Federal Reserve with no oversight or accountability. If we continue down this path, we will suffer either runaway inflation or a significantly lower standard of living in our nation. Learn more
