My priorities include: Immediately recommit to the Paris agreement. Our collaboration with allied nations must include a fight for human rights and against climate change. Immediately return to Obama-era fuel efficiency standards. Insist that the “Green New Deal” includes universal basic income because many green jobs will be automated to make them humane and sustainable. Simplify the approval process for regional and neighborhood solar energy facilities to replace or supplement local utilities; Require rooftop solar on all new commercial and mixed-use construction; Provide a 50% of investment tax credit for all solar conversions. Create regional electric grids to maximize sustainable energy production and efficiency. (Oregon would be part of a regional grid with Washington, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, and California.)
