There should also be more hand counting of ballots to verify voting machine totals before the ballots ever leave the precinct they are cast in and we should be making cast vote records publicly available. A cast vote record is a pdf of the ballot and how it was calculated by the voting machine. That way anyone who wants to verify the results of an election for themselves would be able to do so.
