Get StartedI support efforts to amend Act 111 of the Pennsylvania Code, a hundred year old law that allows police unions to force arbitration when cities attempt to take personnel action. This law allows police unions to stop localities from intervening to get officers who assault members of the public or worse off the force, and shields them from facing criminal charges. Amending Act 111 will also make it easier for cities to reduce the police department budgets through personnel action. Learn more
I will support the PA Promise. This plan provides two years of tuition and fees for any high school graduate enrolled full-time in one of Pennsylvania's fourteen community colleges and covers four years of tuition for any family with an income of less than 110,000 to attend one of the fourteen state universities. The PA promise will also provide mean-tested grants to students attending Pitt. We need more champions of this bill. I will be that champion. Learn more
We need our representatives to prioritize banning fracking in our state and this will be impossible if we continue to allow industry lobbyists to line the pockets of our legislators. I strongly support a gift ban that would disallow any gifts at all from lobbyists, those with business before the government, those with an economic interest at stake, and those who are regulated by government agencies. I support the Pennsylvania Health Care Plan. This is a state-wide single payer system funded by payroll taxes. This will save money – payroll taxes incurred will be smaller than deductibles and premiums - and ensure everyone in Pennsylvania has access to affordable health care. Learn more
