Get StartedAs your 32nd District State Senator, I will support future legislation to strengthen and ensure access to abortion services in CT. Every woman should have autonomy over her own body and the personal choice to have an abortion should be enshrined in the Constitution of the State of CT. Access to good contraception, along with properly funded education, will lead to the decrease in unwanted pregnancies and the prevention of transmitted diseases. Learn more
I would look to trade schools to develop vibrant apprenticeship programs for high school students, whether they are in mechanical workshops or professional office settings. A real work environment experience will help promote that spirit of work and entrepreneurship in our youth and build a bridge toward Connecticut's economic future. We need to invest in the economy of the 21st century. Learn more
Small businesses are the heart of the 32nd District’s economy. While we must ensure that regulations are in place to protect consumers and promote fair competition, I will sponsor legislation that promotes the kind of entrepreneurship that has defined the ingenuity of the people of Connecticut. I believe that we need to do all we can to keep Connecticut an environmentally friendly state by protecting our forests and wetlands from over development, keeping our waterways free from damaging pollution, and preserving the majestic open space of the 32nd District and our state. We can do this by investing in clean energy, and encouraging development of a green economy for CT. Learn more
I fully support universal background checks, a crackdown on illegal weapon sales and placing limits on high-capacity magazines and military assault weapons. These common sense reforms have made Connecticut safer from gun violence. In many cases, gun safety and mental illness are linked and we cannot manage one while ignoring the other. Addressing both issues through legislation reform is the only solution to curbing both problems. Learn more
We must use legislative power to control the cost of prescription drugs, mandate caps on out of pocket expenses, and investigate a lower cost public insurance option. I support the expansion of HUSKY Health, CT's public health coverage program, or a new public option to cover more people. Making healthcare more affordable encourages annual wellness visits and promotes a healthier lifestyle and community. In the long run, healthy living will lower overall health care costs. Learn more
