Th the McLeary decision the state had to find new ways to bring in funding for schools. Most of the new funding came from property taxes and in many areas of the state we have seen large increases in property tax. When elected I will work to find tax relief but continue to fund education at the levels we are at or even higher. Learn more
When elected I will work to take up to forty percent of the funding from recreational marijuana taxes and put it into education funding where the school districts can work with mental health professionals to either hire a mental health professional or contract with and have them available in the schools for students in need and cannot afford the care. We need to find ways to work with local municipalities and the local organizations, like South King Housing and Homelessness Partners (SKHHP) or Seattle Union Gospel Mission.
