The economic impact of our crumbling infrastructure is unparalleled and it continues to rise year after year. Our country’s infrastructure was once the envy of the world, but lack of funding has allowed it to fall apart and now we’re lagging behind. Today West Virginians drive on some of the worst roads and bridges in the country to get to work. It’s time for Charleston to realize that access to affordable high-speed internet is no longer a luxury, it’s a necessity for commerce, education, healthcare and public safety. Quality internet can unlock our state’s full potential and help rural areas attract new businesses.
