Get StartedNo politician should stand between a woman and her doctor. Learn more
Federal funding for education should be directed at ensuring that all students have an equal opportunity to excel and contribute to our society – not directed at standardized testing and enforcement of ineffective curriculum requirements. Education should be tailored as much as possible to individual students, and only teachers have that insight. Learn more
Unfortunately, we did not heed Eisenhower’s warning long ago about the military-industrial complex. As a result, much of our wasteful spending is based on big corporations lobbying for equipment that the Pentagon doesn’t need. Learn more
The time has long passed for us to pay our troops more, and after they have served their country and risked their lives, we must offer them the best medical and psychological support available. Learn more
Moreover, I support a modern day version of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) that offers employment in those areas that need civic engagement the most. This would include necessities like tutoring, childcare for the working poor, senior care, flood control, reforestation, or urban renewal projects. The CCC could also be a win-win solution for students to obtain financial assistance for higher education opportunities. Learn more

Our goal should be to create happy and healthy productive members of society – and that doesn’t always mean going to college. For those that choose that path, however, we need to ensure that college and other advanced degrees are affordable through service-based scholarships. Learn more
I will promote legislation that provides safe and sustainable alternative clean-energy solutions, that protects our air, water, and land and that boosts economic growth. Corporations should not be allowed to rake in higher profits at the expense of our environment, and all constituents should be encouraged to take actions that reduce their carbon footprint on the planet. Instead of intervening in other countries with military force, we should confront the complexities of cyber warfare with a robust intelligence community and mutually beneficial relationships with other countries with whom we can share critical data. Learn more
Let’s get big money out of politics and focus on the needs of the average, everyday constituent. Learn more
I believe that we can begin to address our current problems by looking to measures such as stricter background checks, closing loopholes for “gun shows” and second-hand sellers, watching closely those with warning signs (red flag laws), and limiting the capacity of magazines on certain, particularly lethal weapons. I will work with my colleagues in Congress to create a Medicare for All system that provides, for all citizens, health services for physical ailments, family planning, drug addiction, and mental illness. The Plan should also be focused on reducing prescription drug costs and saving costs over the long run through preventative care and access to medical marijuana. Learn more
If you elect me to Congress, I will work hard to ensure that our current system – where an insurance company’s profits depend on the lack of health care it provides – is replaced with an American Health Insurance Plan that provides coverage that is effective for all citizens. Learn more
We need a measured immigration policy that addresses both immigrants that are already here, especially Dreamers, and those seeking to come in the future. For those that are already here, a five-year path to citizenship should be provided that is conditioned upon a security evaluation and payment of a fine and any back-taxes. Going forward, however, U.S. immigration enforcement should be based on enhanced technology for border control and an enforcement system to deter the hiring of immigrant labor outside the legal process. If elected, I will work with my colleagues, regardless of party, to ensure that infrastructure updates and projects are prioritized Learn more
I will advocate for our aging population to receive the return on their taxpayer investment and ensure that seniors have a decent and dignified living. Congress should no longer be allowed to “borrow” from Social Security or Medicare, and both programs should be expanded to ensure that all or our aging neighbors are cared for. Learn more
The excessive and permanent tax cuts handed to corporations by the current government are not amenable to the dire need in this country to upgrade our infrastructure. If we want to compete in the global economy, we should look to corporate taxes to fund improvements. Learn more
