Get StartedI fully support a person's right to choose, and would oppose any legislation that weakens the important Roe v. Wade decision. All people deserve bodily autonomy, and I will always vote to protect that. Reproductive healthcare is, in my opinion, basic healthcare, and it should be protected and universally provided. Protecting the rights of our society's most marginalized is a top priority to me. As an member of the LGBTQ+ community, a woman, and a longtime social worker, I am fully committed to protecting and expanding civil rights. Learn more
For too long, our rural areas have been ignored and disinvested in. It’s time for a comprehensive plan to invest in our rural infrastructure, including fighting for increased wages, expansion of our local economy through new and innovative jobs, a focus on protecting and improving the physical infrastructure of our communities, and Broadband access for every rural Missourian. Investing in our public schools is the best way to invest in the future of our children. Any attempts to weaken or divert funding from our public schools hurts our community members. As the spouse of a retired school teacher, I also know first-hand the impact that our educators have on our community. I support all legislation that strengthens our public schools, and I support the right of our educators to fight for higher wages and secured pensions. Learn more
Our children must be able to succeed without being hindered by unbearable student debt. For this reason, I support debt-free community college, which provides all students, and most specifically students from our rural district, the opportunity to get ahead in life. Learn more
Climate change is real, and it is directly impacting our community. Recent flooding in our district that has hurt farmers is a direct result of a changing climate. We must take climate change seriously. For this reason, I support new policies, including the Green New Deal, that creates new job opportunities and industries to respond to the changing needs of our planet. Learn more
I also support the expansion and development of community health centers in rural areas to provide primary care services. The community health center model works well: it provides comprehensive healthcare services to people, regardless of insurance status. Often, these centers exist in schools to provide care to students and to the general public after school hours. I support increased federal funding for these centers to support the expansion of this model. Learn more
I fully support moving the United States to a universal healthcare coverage, and phasing out, over time, private insurance. Specifically, I support Medicare-for-All, but I am open to any solid policy that moves us towards universal coverage. Learn more
We need inclusive healthcare coverage for those in the LGBTQ+ community. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, this issue is of the utmost priority for me. Trans-inclusive and affirming healthcare are basic rights, and our medical providers must be equipped and trained to provide this sort of care. Learn more
For generations, vocational and technical training programs have provided life and job skills for our community members. We must strengthen these programs, not weaken them, and funding for these programs must be sustained. Learn more
Right to Work is wrong for Missouri. Any attempt to weaken unions hurts our community. For this reason, I oppose any Right to Work legislation, both on the national and state level. Our unions must be strong in order to advocate for increased wages, better benefits, and safer workplaces. Learn more
