Outlaw Lobbying - When billionaires and corporations have puppets it becomes a dangerous place. 1 in 5 children are going hungry in America, congress is focused on pleasing roughly 5% of America. Representatives do not have consequences when they live out of touch with the reality their decision cost us, the American people. Learn more
Representative Background Checks - Every term a background check should be run and policies should be in place to prevent felons (who cannot vote) the right to represent constituents. Social workers cannot have a felony on their record, why can Congress?? Learn more
Degree Requirments - Representatives chair or are a member of several committees that bring bills to the floor. We have members in those committees who have no educational background or credibility to assist in building a bill that is actually helpful and not time-wasting. This needs to stop; place degree requirements on the committees. If a member who has an educators degree wants to be on a committee for housing/HUD they would have to obtain a degree in economics with an emphasis on sociology. Learn more
