Get StartedSex-selective, racially motivated, special needs, and other discriminatory abortion practices have no place in a land of Justice for All. Instead, I will introduce a national ban on abortion in my first term, to ensure that every child has the right to life, and the protection that they deserve. Learn more
N my first term, I will introduce a bill to expand the VA Mission Act to allow veterans to access care at any hospital or clinic in the United States, including mental health care. By allowing veterans to seek care at a wider range of hospitals and clinics, we can promote competition and incentivize healthcare providers to improve the quality of care they provide to veterans. This can result in better health outcomes, lower costs, and reduce wait times. Learn more
The brave men and women who have served our country in the armed forces have made tremendous sacrifices to protect our freedom and way of life. As a nation, we have a responsibility to ensure that these veterans receive the care and support they deserve. In America, no military veteran should be homeless or have trouble accessing the health care that they deserve. Expanding the eligibility of Veterans Administration (VA) hospitals to allow veterans to access care at any hospital or clinic is a critical step in meeting this responsibility. Learn more
As part of our commitment to our nation's heroes, I will be launching the "Off the Street, On Their Feet" (OSOTF) initiative. We will engage with private partners and nonprofits to provide job training for homeless veterans and help them get back on their feet. With VA services and a way to earn an income, we can honor our commitment to America's veterans and get our heroes off the streets. Learn more
I will introduce a bill to make it a federal offense to sell any drugs laced with deadly fentanyl. Fentanyl poisoning should be considered murder, and we should prosecute drug dealers that poison our children. Learn more
The last time that America paid off our national debt was in 1835, driven by the sale of federal land to Americans that wanted to build their lives on their own property. The federal government owns nearly 640 million acres of land across the country, and much of it is not essential for government use. By selling this land to private American entities, we can generate revenue for the government, create new economic opportunities, and reduce the burden on taxpayers. Learn more
Introducing manufacturing and technology companies to rural communities will bring high-paying jobs to our district and help to diversify our local economies. These companies will create jobs, and stimulate economic growth in our community. When we couple this with sensible solutions to improve education in the 25th District, this will make it easier for our young residents to build their lives here and build businesses of their own. Learn more
In addition to signing a pledge to donate half of my congressional salary to nonprofit charities making a difference in our district, I will fight to cut taxes and keep more of your money in your bank account. In my first term as congressman, I will introduce an amendment to cut taxes for everyday families, reducing the tax rate and improving deductions for those of us struggling to get by. Learn more
We need to refocus the Department of Education to meet the needs of our community. Revising Title I funding for special needs kids is a critical step in ensuring that all students have access to the resources they need to succeed. By focusing on individualized education plans, vocational training, and other resources that can help special needs students succeed, we can provide a more inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students. Learn more
From my time volunteering in public elementary schools, I understand how tough it is for teachers to provide a quality education with limited resources. The system isn't working for everyone, and there's no one-size-fits-all solution. Rather than the government telling us how to educate our kids, parents and teachers are the best people to make decisions about how our kids should be educated. Learn more
We should work with our best colleges and universities to offer fully online dual-credit programs for students to earn their associate's degree in high school, so that they can get ahead and save thousands on a college degree, no matter where they live. This would also make it easier to get certifications in software development, and access high-paying jobs immediately after high school. Learn more
I will work to streamline the process for medical device companies to gain FDA clearance for addiction prevention and recovery devices. This will bring new treatments to the market at a lower cost, ensuring accessibility for anyone who needs life-saving devices and medications at a reasonable cost. Learn more
I will fight to expand access to mental health care. Mental illness and addiction are significant drivers of rising healthcare costs, and they destroy lives. Expanding access to mental health care is critical to ensuring that individuals have the resources and support they need to address mental health issues, especially our veterans. By expanding access to mental health care, we can reduce the stigma associated with mental illness and ensure that we receive the care that we need to lead healthy, fulfilling lives. Learn more
Securing the border is critical to ensuring the safety and security of our nation. This includes deploying additional Border Patrol agents, implementing advanced surveillance technologies, and strengthening cooperation with the Mexican government. It also means ending catch-and-release and reinstating the remain-in-Mexico policy. By securing the border, we can reduce the risk of terrorist attacks, prevent the flow of fentanyl and other drugs into America, and ensure that our immigration laws are enforced. Learn more
We need to complete the border wall. A physical barrier can prevent individuals from crossing into the United States illegally, making it more difficult for criminal organizations to smuggle drugs and engage in human trafficking. It will ultimately reduce the burden on our shoulders to support the cost of illegal immigration, including healthcare, education, and law enforcement. More importantly, this will keep our kids from being poisoned with fentanyl. Learn more
Rebuilding rural infrastructure is essential to supporting economic growth and development. The rural stretches of our district have crumbling infrastructure that limits our ability to attract new businesses and create jobs. By investing in modern infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and broadband access, we can improve connectivity and make it easier for businesses to operate in this place that we call home. Learn more
Balancing the federal budget is critical to ensuring that our nation remains fiscally responsible and sustainable. The federal deficit has been a growing problem for many years, and we must take action to bring spending in line with revenue. By balancing the budget, we can reduce the national debt and promote economic stability and growth. This means cutting bloated bureaucracy and raising revenue without increasing taxes. Learn more
Government spending has ballooned to unsustainable levels, and we must take action to reduce the national debt. We can't allow Washington to continue to mortgage our children's future with their out-of-control spending. By cutting unnecessary spending, we will prioritize critical programs and reduce the burden on taxpayers like us. Learn more
Expanding the foster care system is critical in providing loving homes for children who have been neglected, abused, or abandoned. Many children in the foster care system are in need of a stable and nurturing environment, and by expanding the foster care system, we can provide them with the care and support they need to thrive. As a congressman, I will advocate for increased tax breaks for families that foster or adopt children in need of a home. Learn more
We must make it easier for parents to raise children in America, including an expansion of the child tax credit. Learn more
I will never vote for a tax increase, and will work to make sure that Washington finally balances its budget, just like every business and family has to do. Learn more
