While we want to make sure criminals are off our streets, it is a fact that the vast majority of folks who enter Tennessee’s prisons will be released. Without providing resources in our prisons aimed at successful outcomes post-incarceration, we fail to change behavior in our inmates. As such, many will leave with the same intentions that they came in with. This vicious cycle overcrowds our jails, prisons, and bloats our state budget. Learn more
