Get StartedNow that the Supreme Court has ruled on the adequacy of school funding passed by last year’s Legislature, it will take all Legislators working together to devise a plan that meets all aspects of the court’s ruling. If elected your legislator, I will work with all to assure we provide adequate funding for our children’s education. Every dollar invested in education will reap dividends in the education of our students. Additionally, we need to make more opportunities available for post secondary education, including technical training. My position as a member of the Peaslee Tech Board of Directors has helped to affirm my understanding of the need to offer technical training as an alternative to college. Learn more
As a Lawrence City Commissioner and a Douglas County Commissioner, I have seen first hand the negative impact of state and federal unfunded mandates. Local citizens and elected persons should be able to determine what is best for each community. I think it is extremely cavalier of our Legislature to think they know what is best for us. Learn more
Many areas of Kansas, including a large part of my district, are inhibited by slow internet access. In this day and age, all Kansans should have access to reasonable cost high speed internet, if they so desire. We must work with providers to secure such a network. Learn more
It is false economics to rob from the highway fund to balance a budget. There used to be a commercial that said, “You can pay me now, or you can pay me later!”. This is so true in terms of highway funding. Deferred maintenance of our road system only leads to poor roads and higher cost of repair. Learn more
