I believe that border security is national security and just like we secure our homes at night by locking our doors, we must secure our borders to keep Americans safe. Learn more

I will work with veterans and retired military officers to ask how we can help them; and work with the VA Secretary to ensure that the VA is held to account nationwide through random checks of facilities. I will also work to improve the care for our border patrol agents who have the highest suicide rate amongst our law enforcement agencies. Learn more

I will work with cyber security experts to make sure that we are constantly one step ahead of cyber threats abroad, and make sure that platforms with large amounts of public information such as Facebook are being held to account as well. Learn more

Drug Policy

I will work with representatives from states who have also legalized marijuana recreationally to  amend the Controlled Substance Act of 1970 and remove marijuana as a Schedule 1 drug. Learn more

Economy

I promise to support legislation hat reduces federal tax burdens on California businesses and to create economic incentives for California-made products to kickstart manufacturing and production jobs, to increase jobs, and help provide stability to California workers. Learn more

I believe the best way to grow the economy and create new jobs is by reducing taxes and allowing innovation to continue to provide the American people with better products and services as well as new industries and careers. I will be an ally to business owners and job creators. Learn more

Education

I will defend parents rights to decide how to educate their children. Learn more

I will push for a school voucher program and make it easier for parents who decide to homeschool their kids to do so. Learn more

Environment / Energy

I will work with organizations in both the public and private sector to promote bipartisan efforts to keep our planet clean and livable. We must conserve and preserve the Earth for future generations just as we conserve and preserve our Constitution for future Americans. Learn more

Guns

I promise to support the 2nd Amendment protections of law-abiding citizens and to increase the accessibility of gun safety programs, and will work with state and local agencies to make it harder for those with violent criminal histories or severe mental health issues from easily obtaining firearms. No one should ever have to lose a loved one to gun violence, and I believe that a great step towards tackling this issue is acknowledging the role mental health reform would play into preventing tragedies like these Learn more

I will also work to pass concealed carry reciprocity. If a law abiding citizen can carry in California, they should be able to carry everywhere else and vice versa. Learn more

Taxes / Budget

I promise to support zero-based budgeting, requiring government agencies to provide full transparency and justification for their funding and to block any legislation that gives special interest groups hundreds of millions in kickbacks without the consent of the taxpayers. Learn more

I will also work with the House Appropriations Committee to ensure that California workers don't lose their local and state tax exemptions under the recent tax reform bill because Californians deserve real tax relief. Learn more
