Get StartedEach person’s circumstances are unique, and a person’s right to bodily autonomy is a constitutional right. I believe that we must invest in supporting family planning and healthcare facilities that provide services to lower incoming communities at affordable costs. Learn more
All persons, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation deserve the right to love who they love, to have protection from hate crimes, and to share equal rights in all aspects to that of our heterosexual counterparts. Learn more
We are on the cusp of legalizing recreational cannabis, with multi-million dollar industries ready to boom. Meanwhile, our people are serving life sentences for nonviolent cannabis-related offenses. We must fight for reparations for disproportionate sentences. We must work to fix the systematic oppression ingrained within our criminal justice system, end the school-to-prison pipeline, and abolish for-profit prisons. We must stop putting those in active addiction into prison facilities rather than rehabilitation. Learn more
Pennsylvania is home to over 840,000 veterans, and 56,000 active duty, reserve, and civilian-military personnel. Those who have served our country both past and present and their families deserve access to sustainable housing, healthcare, and reintegration opportunities within our communities across the nation and here at home. The opioid epidemic is the largest and most dire health epidemic of my generation. Our peers in active addiction aren't getting better by being thrown into our criminal justice system – they are dying. Most people I know have been impacted by addiction, whether through active use, recovery, or through experiencing loss from addiction. Opioid addiction is a disease and we need to be divest from criminalizing those in active addiction and refocus our resources into rehabilitation of those in active addiction, supporting those in recovery, and providing resources to those who are caring for those suffering from addiction. Our district is home to the most farms in PA. With over 99% owned locally, farmland preservation and strong trade deals to promote economic stability are crucial. We must invest in our farmers both economically and environmentally by supporting cover cropping and no-till farming. As we begin to feel the impact of recently soured trade deals, we must fight to ensure that our farmers have the resources to thrive for generations to come. Learn more
The climate crisis is one of the most pressing issues of my generation. The impact of the climate crisis is stark. It is crucial that we work hard to correct it before it has a devastating impact on our agricultural and trade abilities. Climate change is directly related to many health issues, wildfires, and extinctions today. It is imperative that we take immediate action through the resolutions outlined in the Green New Deal to ensure that we can survive and thrive for generations to come. Learn more
In 2019 alone, there were 434 mass shootings (where 4 or more victims were present). Among 2,160 victims, 517 were killed. We live in a time where our children are actively being prepared for mass shootings in their schools, while being desensitized to the ongoing threat of gun violence on TV – similarly to what my generation endured regarding the constant media coverage of war, violence, and death post – 9/11. We must fight for policy that gets military-grade weapons off of our streets, closes gun show loopholes, and creates universal background checks as a start to combating gun violence. Learn more
In the wealthiest country in the world, it is inexcusable that we do not have a form of universal healthcare in place to take care of our people. With nearly 44% of our people across the U.S. making less than $18,000 a year, many of us are either underinsured or still struggling to pay deductibles before receiving any coverage. There is no reason that we should not be investing taxpayer dollars into an all-inclusive healthcare system that covers everything from disability care, addiction treatment, reproductive procedures, mental health care (including therapy), dental care, and end-of-life care. No one should have to choose their bills over the quality of health – nor should they go bankrupt. Learn more
Lancaster City has the highest immigration resettlement rate nationwide, and we know first-hand how positive of an impact that our neighbors from near and far have on our community. While Lancaster City has been noted as an official “Welcoming City” to immigrants and refugees, our state is hosting one of the largest detention centers right next door. In 2019, the U.S. held a record of 69,550 children in custody – many who were separated from their families and held in squalid conditions at for-profit facilities. We must stop these inhumane family separations at our border and in our communities. We must fight to close down the facility in Berks County next door and move towards abolishing ICE. We need to amend our immigration system so that our asylum seekers and immigrants have a better pathway to citizenship. We must also fight to ensure that hate crimes revolving xenophobia, antisemitism, and bigotry are seriously held accountable. Learn more
I believe that all workers should have the rights and protections provided by collective bargaining that often result in better benefits, fair wages, and safer working conditions. I strongly believe that all workers should receive living wages and will fight to protect labor agreements against those who are working to break them down. Learn more
