Sarah will push for common sense drug law reform—expanding access to naltrexone, legalizing safe consumption sites, and lifting federal provisions that restrict access to life-saving medications for opioid addiction. Sarah will work to ensure that our public schools are adequately funded and our teachers are adequately paid. She will call for measures to close the school-to-prison pipeline and keep students engaged—investing in afterschool and mentorship programs, as well as broadening the K-12 curriculum to include vocational and career training, arts, humanities, and trade. She will call for full enforcement of the Fair Housing Act and work to combat exclusionary zoning, redlining, and other discriminatory practices in the homeownership market. She will push for policies that promote equity and wealth building through homeownership in black communities, including reparations and grants for first-time homebuyers.
