Get StartedI am supportive of upholding human dignity and protecting our residents from harassment and discrimination on every level, including our LGBTQ friends and neighbors. I am supportive of Utah passing legislation for victims which can add harsher punishments to those who are convicted of crimes shown to be motivated by bias. I love the diversity of ideas, creativity and life our LGBTQ community brings to downtown. I want them to always feel that they have a safe, inclusive home here in Utah. Learn more
I support research and development of cannabis derivatives as medication. People report having found relief for MS, seizures, chronic pain, neurological disorders and mental health issues using marijuana. I would like to see Utah be at the forefront of research an development for effective cannabis based drugs so relief can be dispensed in a safe and scientific manner and monitored by physicians. I would like to identify these business ‘hurdles’ and reduce or eliminate them where practical to encourage further economic growth. More economic growth bene ts everyone and I see so much potential for new and expanded economic growth in our district and state. Learn more
Our focus should be on educating our students for a productive life ahead including preparation of the needs of employers in the 21st century. This may be accomplished in a classroom, a specific skills program or a trade school. We need to implement teaching strategies that have been demonstrated to work for students and educators. Once these strategies are identified I will work as your Representative to fund them in a focused fashion to ensure success. Higher education isn’t just about going to college but also learning valuable skills at one of Utah’s many applied technology colleges. Learn more
Utah has a very active solar power industry. Some of our state’s fundamental policies do not reflect the benefits to the public. For example the Public Service Commission is not allowed to consider the environmental impacts of solar power in their decision-making. This is short sighted and must be changed to better reflect the benefits of solar energy on our environment. Learn more
Last year the State, County and City of Salt Lake tackled homelessness together. This is a complex issue that cannot be solved by just one policy or strategy. While the initial focus was on public safety, the next steps are treatment (where appropriate), housing, social care and employment options. . I support this joint effort and want to ensure that the State does not lose focus or funding for our most vulnerable neighbors. Learn more
