Get StartedI will support policy which encourages residents to move away from fossil fuels. I am interested in ways the legislature can help and encourage local government bodies to invest in greener building options and move towards improving access reliable public transportation. I understand why people resist taking the bus in our district. It’s hard to opt out of driving your car when a ten minute drive takes over an hour by bus. I will work to find whatever revenue streams are available in Olympia to help increase the frequency of local buses so people feel better about leaving their cars at home. Learn more
We need the kind of comprehensive approach to health and well-being which will ensure not only that our residents don’t go broke trying to pay for healthcare, but that we all have access to the things we all need to stay healthy in the first place like good nutrition, adequate sick leave for all workers and reliable access to preventive medicine regardless of income or locality. The growth of our district has outpaced the ability of our roads to support it. We cannot afford to keep sending somebody to Olympia who routinely votes against spending money on improving our infrastructure. I will work hard to ensure our district gets its fair share of the transportation budget so that we have safe roads to drive on. I will also prioritize securing the funding we need to make public transportation a more viable option for everybody. We don’t just need better roads, we need to find ways to curb traffic. Learn more
